Hiroshima animation festival 2008

Ami is soon leaving to Hiroshima Animation festival. There will be a huge presentation of Finnish animation. Tuhru-films to be seen are The Irresistible Smile, Bird House, Death in the Yellow House, The Year I Cut My Hair and Stage Fright.

Suomalainen animaatio esittäytyy kattavasti Hiroshiman kansainvälisellä animaatioelokuvafestivaalilla 7-11.8.2008. Tuhrun elokuvista nähdään Ilo irti, Toinen huone, Kuolema keltaisessa talossa, The Year I Cut My Hair ja Stage Fright. Ami lähtee mukaan varmistamaan, että kuvasuhteet ovat oikein...

Animaatioleiri / Animation camp

Ami oli viime viikon Kuhmossa Animaation Apupyörän animaatioleirillä. Teemana ääni, kokeellinen elokuva, huskyt ja Venäjän raja. Avanto, pidä varasi.

Ami spent the last week at Animation Camp in Kuhmo, Eastern Finland. We made some weird experimental films while toasting marshmallows and pancakes over the campfire.

Today, while the rest of Tuhru are attending Napa picnic in Helsinki, I'm staying in with a flu. Roaming about I found out lovely painter-collage-maker Anna Törrönen has made a website. The site is not finished so in the mean time you can see some of her paintings here.

I am lucky to baby sit for three of her paintings over the summer, in August I will be taking them to Spain for the Finnish-Spanish Cheap Art Party we're (that's B) organizing together with Duduá-gallery of Barcelona.

Animaatiota käytetään tänä liikkuvan kuvan aikakautena kaikkialla kännyköistä kadunvarsimainoksiin. Samalla myös taideanimaattoreiden määrä Suomessa on kasvanut huomattavasti. Digitaalisten efektien myötä ero live-elokuvan ja animaation välillä on hämärtynyt. Missä taideanimaatiota voi nähdä ja miten se määritellään? Animaatiota on hankala luokitella elokuva- tai mediataiteen alalajiksi, vaikka selkeästi se onkin molempia. Pitäisikö animaatiota käsitellä omana itsenäisenä taiteenlajina, vai onko kyse ainoastaan tekniikasta, jota voidaan hyödyntää taiteen eri alueilla?
